Elvis had a long relationship at the MS-AL Fair & Dairy Show. First as a 10 year old boy, he stood on a stool and sang Old Shep A ccapella, coming in at 5th place. The photo from that day shows what appears to be a stunned Elvis.
In eleven years, he would return at the top of his game: The hottest thing in the country. Twenty-one years old, in complete control, he wooed the audience for two performances in what he called “my Homecoming Show”. Returning again in 1957 for a second Homecoming performance.
One of the best ways to remember Elvis with your own personal message is with a brick around the statue in Fair Park. For more information go to our brick page.
